MCD has won the iF DESIGN AWARD 2022 Gold, Project Solego 2.0

MCD has won the highest distinction – the iF DESIGN AWARD 2022 Gold – and is now one of the top winners of the world-renowned design label.
From almost 11,000 submissions from 57 countries, only the 73 most outstanding design achievements were honored with Gold. Never before has this honor been as exclusive and valuable as this year!
Convincing concept purposefully designed
Solego 2.0 won over the 132-member jury, made up of independent experts from all over the world, with its benefit to supply places cut off from the energygrid with solar energy. The winning product won the iF DESIGN AWARD 2022 Gold in the discipline Professional Concept, in the Product Concepts category.
The jury justified its decision as follows:
»This design concept can play an important part in sustainable development by bringing electrical power to places where grid infrastructure is lacking. We like the simplicity and purposeful design language as well as the choice of materials, including biopolymers, recyclable aluminum, and rare-earth-metal-free batteries.«
