Under the auspices of the European center for creative economy (ecce), the Prize for Innovations in Culture and Creativity in Europe (NICE Award) was awarded for the first time in 2014, and from the outset Prof. Kurt Mehnert accompanies this competition as a jury member.
The NICE Award aims to foster innovation in the cultural and creative industries, especially those that extend to the economy and society.
Prize-giving
On the occasion of the solemn opening ceremony of the NICE Award on 12.02.2019, Stephan Holthoff-Pförtner, Minister for Federal and European Affairs and International Affairs of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and Regional Director of the Regionalverband Ruhr (RVR), Karola Geiß-Netthöfel the visitors and shortlist of this year's award and awarded a total of € 20,000 to the projects.
Promotion
The NICE Award is funded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitalization and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and the cities of Bochum, Dortmund, Essen and Gelsenkirchen.
